Cookie & Similar Technologies Policy

Colmanac Cookie & Similar Technologies Policy

Effective date: 18 July 2026 - Colmanac.com is owned and operated by Colmanac Limited (England & Wales, company number 16826333). Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.
This Policy explains how Colmanac uses cookies, local storage, app storage, SDKs, pixels, identifiers, and similar technologies on our website, iOS app, Android app, and related services. It should be read with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
References to cookies include similar technologies that store information on, or access information from, your browser or device.

1. Technologies We Use

First-party authentication and session technologies: secure cookies or equivalent storage that maintain sign-in, refresh a session, and let the server verify an account before delivering a page. Authentication values are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Requested display-preference technologies: first-party cookies or equivalent storage that remember supported choices such as currency, sales country, content language and interface settings. On web, these choices allow the server to return the correct complete page before it is displayed; when a signed-in browser is missing a display-preference cookie, Colmanac may retrieve the saved account preference and restore the cookie.
Other strictly necessary technologies: account security, fraud prevention, load balancing, consent/privacy choice storage, requested app settings, scanner/runtime assets, and features you request.
Analytics and diagnostics: consent-gated Google Analytics on web and Google Analytics for Firebase in native app versions that include it, plus diagnostics or error and performance tools where used. These tools help us understand usage and improve reliability.
Advertising, affiliate, and campaign measurement: Google Ads/AdSense, marketplace affiliate measurement, campaign pixels, conversion attribution, and similar technologies where enabled and permitted.
Email/CRM and support technologies: tools such as Loops or similar providers that support email preferences, campaign measurement, and customer communications.
App-store and subscription technologies: Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, and related technologies needed to process purchases, restore subscriptions, prevent fraud, and maintain entitlements.

2. Why We Use Them

To provide secure login, account, subscription, scanner, collection, watchlist, preference, and support features, including resolving saved display preferences before delivering a web page.
To protect Colmanac and users from fraud, abuse, scraping, credential attacks, unauthorized access, and technical failures.
To measure product performance, understand feature usage, fix errors, and improve the Service.
To measure advertising, affiliate, referral, and campaign performance where permitted by your choices and applicable law.
To comply with legal, accounting, app-store, privacy, and security obligations.

3. Consent and Controls

On web, non-essential analytics, advertising, affiliate measurement, and similar technologies are controlled through the consent prompt and cookie settings. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded until analytics is enabled. We honor Global Privacy Control signals by keeping non-essential technologies off where supported.
On native apps, we do not show a web-style cookie banner. Native privacy choices are handled through in-app privacy controls and operating-system settings where available. Native app versions that include Google Analytics for Firebase keep collection off until you enable analytics. They do not use advertising identifiers for Colmanac analytics.
First-party session technologies and technologies used only to record or deliver selections you request operate independently from optional analytics or advertising consent where permitted by applicable law. They remain on because they are needed to provide requested login and preference features, secure the Service, remember privacy choices, and comply with legal obligations. They are not reused for analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking. Disabling or deleting them may sign you out, reset preferences, or break core functionality.

4. Third-Party Technologies

Third-party providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. This may include Google, Apple, Google Play, RevenueCat, Stripe, affiliate networks, marketplace partners, email/CRM providers, analytics providers, and hosting/security providers.
Standard outbound affiliate links may include partner identifiers in the URL and can remain available even when optional cookies are rejected. If a partner sets cookies or similar technologies after you leave Colmanac, that partner is responsible for its own notices and controls.

5. Retention

The web authentication cookie is named colmanac-auth and may be divided into numbered chunks when needed. It lasts for up to 400 days and can be refreshed while the account remains signed in. The colmanac-currency and colmanac-sales-country preference cookies each last for up to 400 days. These first-party cookies may expire sooner when you sign out, replace a choice, clear browser data, or the session is revoked. Optional provider technologies follow the retention described by that provider and the choices available in Colmanac.

6. Updates and Contact

We may update this Policy as technologies, providers, laws, or product features change.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
